Except for documentation, most release-related tasks are automated.

Would anyone object to releasing Leo 6.8.10 later this week?

Hehe. There's really never any rush. It's just been exciting to see such rapid progress.

Otoh, waiting (all by itself) never guarantees anything.

For Leo 6.8.10, I'm good with another week or so of testing. A lot has happened.

This is great stuff, Ville. Here is my summary:

PR #4893:  Adds a "docs" job to ci.yml that runs rst3 over LeoDocs.leo and then sphinx-build, so a broken doc build fails CI like anything else. It also adds a publish-docs.yml action.

How expensive will the "docs" job be? How would I trigger the publish-docs.yml action?

PR #4992: Avoid having to commit to Leo's gh-pages branch. I love it.

My next step will be to commit (in "devel") all changes implied by the (to-be-revised!) checklist in LeoDist.leo. The changes include Leo's documentation, LeoDist.leo, and version-related stuff. That is, leoVersion.py might go away.

I'm glad we're going to pause for Félix to do his usual thorough review of the recent changes. That will give us all time to test all the new workflows. I expect a few more devN releases.

- Docs action takes less than 1 minute, and it runs  parallel to other jobs so it's "free" as in wall clock time

- Do not commit the html documentation, let's try it with the github actions this time

publish-docs.yml action will be executed from github actions web ui or gh gli. We could e.g. add leo buttons for running the gh cli command to leodocs.leo.

If we are happy with how the page publishing works, we can trigger it every time on push to devel (we can also filter on the subdirs so that push to docs dir triggers it). But let's start with manual invocation for now
