I installed python 3.8 just to play with it a little and discovered that Leo themes dont work as expected,

With py3.7 I have fixed-sized fonts of appropriate size but when starting with py3.8 all fonts have different size and family
(the worst thing - they are of variable sizes so formatting of python code becomes a pain).

What this can be concerned with?

Please supply at least the following information:

1.  How you installed python 3.8.

2.  The contents of Leo's log pane. For example:

2019-10-21 00:41:20 -0500
Python 3.7.3, PyQt version 5.9.6
Windows 10 AMD64 (build 10.0.18362) SP0

Thanks.  I've created #1420 for this.

I checked it out on linux. No problems, works fine.
This may concern choco or environment, not obligatory leo itself.

Thanks for this report.  Surely Leo is not primarily responsible for this behavior.

I investigated that a little more.
Looks like new python can access not every font available for prev version of python.
I changed fonts in the theme to Consolas and now Leo looks ok.
