Yesterday was day one of the "official" (hehe) sabbatical.

Attached is a painting I did yesterday afternoon. Cary Forest is my neighbor, and a world-class physicist. Yes, Madison is full of my heroes :-)

I painted from a photo of Cary that appeared in the UW Alumni magazine. The latest print issue, containing Cary's picture, does not yet appear on the website.

My goal is to draw or paint a human face almost every day for the rest of my life.

I have ambitious, still quite vague, goals for painting. Without doubt, daily practice will greatly strengthen my artistic skills. Daily practice will also clarify just what it is that I want :-)
