Send each buyer a custom code?

Is there a way to do this (e.g. by including it in the book or in a separate text file)? I’d like to send my buyers rebate codes for another product of mine.

Hi Axel,

There is no way to automatically give each reader a unique coupon code, sorry.

It's probably not quite what you're looking for, but you could create a "Package" that people could buy, where you add an "Extra" text file with a coupon link in it. However, everyone who bought that Package would get the same coupon link, and it would work just like any other coupon link.

Alas, that wouldn’t be enough. I need a way for buyers to prove to me that they have purchased my book.

One option might be to say in your About the Book section that if they share their email address with you, then they can get a coupon.

If you're willing to deal with people individually, everybody who buys a Leanpub book gets a receipt with a unique Purchase ID. You can see the IDs for purchases of your book here: https://leanpub.com/YOURBOOK/individual_purchases. So, someone who buys a book could share their Purchase ID with you, and you could check it against your records, to see if it's real.

Perfect – that works well! Is there a way for buyers to look up this information if they lost their receipt email?

Hi Axel,

Currently the best way for a customer to do this is to sign in to Leanpub and go to https://leanpub.com/user_dashboard/purchases, select the purchase, and send themselves a new receipt email.
