Hi,

I've noticed that 1kG Phase3 plink files from [1] contain 489 individuals, which is less than 503 official EUR population from 1kG publication [2]. Is there a specific criterion used to exclude those 14 individuals?

Kind regards,
Oleksandr

Hi Oleksandr,
The exclusions are from dropping inbred and related individuals, as described in Gazal et al. 2015, Scientific Reports. I’ve CCed Steven Gazal here in case you have any followup questions for him.
Cheers,
Raymond

Thanks for a quick answer, and for the link to the paper. Now it is clear.

Kind regards,
Oleksandr
