that message is normal. it just means it will start deducting credit.
Just double check that you indeed have been granted credit by checking the billing section (also it should display if you have credit in a header at the top of the screen), as it might not be given if you have previously utilised google cloud services before.

Hi OmenhoteppIV,

I always get that message as well.
In the end, you "will be charged", but from the free credits google is giving you.

You will even receive a receipt in your gmail saying how much costs were produced for the time you used it, but again, nothing will be charged in your account, but taken from your free trial credits.

If you feel more comfortable, start with just want credit card, let it run for 1 day (that is around 13 euros, so no big deal) and you can monitor how your free 300 dollars start going down

Exactly, as Luckyday said, check that you have your 300 dollars from the Free Trial.

hi there, you have started a google cloud instance, not a google colab notebook.  google colab is always free.  google cloud is free for the first $300 worth of charges.  If you followed all the directions carefully (especially the part about preemptable instances) you should get about a month of free use before google starts to charge you.  If you selected preemtable instance then you will need to manually restart your instance every 24 hours or so.  This is good because you just need to check your billing before restarting to see if they have started to charge you. If it is anything more than $0 you have exceeded the free $300.
