Digitar logaritmo

Pessoal como digitar logaritmo de forma correta. Esta muito ruim desta forma onde se localiza o x e o 10. Alguma dica? 

$$ k=1+3.32.log_{10}^x; \; \;   c= \frac{X_{max} -X_{min}} {k}$$

$$ k=1+3.32.log_{10} x; \; \;   c= \frac{X_{max} -X_{min}} {k}$$

Qual o problema com:

Na verdade seria mais recomendado que o 10 fosse deslocado um pouco para baixo e o x se aproximasse do g do log, e isto não consegui.

Recomendado por que livro? Parece que os livros em inglês (ou mesmo os em português que consultei) são como o resultado em LaTeX.
