Error with Wine

Hi, I have installed LAStools ( version 2.3.2 ) and Wine ( via macports ) on my computer today and as i was setting up everything i stumbled accross an error wich is the following :

I recon there is a problem with my setup for the wine folder, wich is currently the following : "/Users/paulripert/.wine" but didn't find any ressources on how to solve it ( only one where the error was the opposite ( wine : is not a directory )) Any tips on how to solve that ?

Hi Paul,

the error message tell you the truth: "/Users/paulripert/.wine" seems to be a directory. It is now intended, that the full wine executable file is given in the wine setting. This gives more flexibility in the type of windows emulator users can and will use. Therefore you have to give the full executable name. Please see the documentation for how to set the full path in the settings. In your case you have probably enter "/Users/paulripert/.wine/wine" in the settings, if this is the place where the wine binary is located.

we are already helping you by writing this wonderful documentation.

Did you do everything as described there?

Please tell exactly what you did.

Please send a screenshot of the QGIS LAStools plugin settings.

Please also give the exactly output of the LAStools and/or the QGIS log after trying to run a command so we can analyze further.

Hi again, after reading your message and the documentation I've tried to do as you told me but there is wine executable file in my .wine folder and I can't find it anywhere on my computer, any clue to how I could locate it ?

Hi Paul,

if the "wine" file is in this directory this is perfect.

The problem probably is, that in the QGIS plugin settings you have entered just the path to your wine file but you have to enter the path INCLUDE the wine file into this setting.

Is it correct, that in the wine settings there is just "/Users/paulripert/.wine" entered?

If so, please set this value to  "/Users/paulripert/.wine/wine".

If this not work: Please send a screenshot of your settings page and the current error message with this setting and we will go from there.
