Hello,

I am looking for a way to increase the existing point source ID in a set of tiled las files by a fixed amount. For example if there were PSIDs in set of tiles ranging from 100-200, I would like to add a constant of 4000 so that the resulting PSIDs would be 4100-4200.

There is a similar command in lassplit (-point_source_offset) that offsets the PSID if it is updated in the splitting operation, but I need to retain part of the number in the original point source and would rather not split and retile the entire dataset.

I have looked for a way to do this in las2las, but so far have not been successful. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben,
this is easy to do using las2las.
First you copy point_source to a register, then you set the offset to a second register, then you add both registers and write the result back to point_source.
The command looks like this:

las2las64 -i lake.laz -copy_point_source_into_register 1 -set_register 2 4000 -add_registers 1 2 3 -copy_register_into_point_source 3 -o result.laz

Cheers,
