Hello all Kurento developers,

We noticed that Facebook Messenger works flawlessly with WebRtc using Edge browser since 3 months ago but kurento-utils does not work with Edge and also kurento-utils does not work with Safari11 ( IOS 11).
It is important for you to check because adapter.js works with those browsers when emitting the stream but the SDP is not correct (or something else from kurento) when we receive the stream from kurento on those browsers.

I want to ask all developers from Kurento if they can test and provide some working examples that are working with kurento-utils to receive teh stream from Kurento using Edge and Safari.

Waiting for some answers,
WebRTc Dev Team

Just a suggestion: you could try using the bare browser RTC API to communicate with Kurento. It works fine; did some tests with a swift app and worked nicely.
I think Edge would be the same.

I plan to work on kurento-utils to make room for those newer browsers when I have spare time and maybe do a PR to the kurento team (FYI: I'm just a normal Kurento user), but I can't make
any promises. Anyway, I think it'd be good if the community started working on this; Kurento is a wonderful project and I think it'd be marvellous if the community started
being more active in contributing to it.

Hi, is there any news about kurento-utils? I try to use mi application that use kurento in edge or safari, but this is impossible by the moment. Also, when i create a room with only audio if i use the last verion of adapter, this not work in chrome, only work in firefox, but with old version of adapter(0.2.9) this work fine, but this version don't have support for Edge & Safari. I think that it´s problem of kurento-utils.

Can anyone help me? The developers of kurento say for months that they will see this subject, but we continue without notice.

Hi Robert,

We are now with other internal priorities and we can't dedicate time to look to Edge and Safari support in Kurento.

You can contribute to Kurento and fix this issues by yourself.

Also, it these features are important for your business, remember that you can use our professional services to help us to improve Kurento in a sustainable manner.

Best regards

Could you please publish your roadmap or your plans for further development? It would be nice to get to know what we can expect for and make a decision about the possibility of using Kurento.

Sincerely,
Roman
