VP8 with Kurento-H264 example

Hi,

I am new to Kurento and I am trying to test the RTSP to WebRTC H.264 scenario. I've deployed the Kurento-H264 example from imonology. I've got the video, but the webrtc console shows that the remote SDP proposes only VP8. Still the demo uses a PlayerEndpoint with useEncodedMedia set to true. Am I missing something ?

After some digging I have something (else) I don't understand : the SdpEndpoint.conf.json conf file contains VP8 and H264 but the remote SDP my firefox receives only contains VP8. If I remove the VP8 codec I do not receive a response form KMS.

H264 is only offerer is openh264 is installed. Please install openh264-gst-plugins-bad-1.5 in order to have h264 support on webrtc.

Yes, after analyzing kurento logs and seeing the 'remove_not_supported_codecs_from_array()' I googled said message and saw the missing plugin issue in someone thread. Now it seems to work.

Hi,

I am using Kurento media server to convert rtsp ( h264) video to webrtc (h264) video and want to stream the h264 video in a rasberry device with chromium browser. 

Have the SdpEndPoint configuration removed for VP8 and support only for h264. And have the openh264 and openh264-gst-plugins-bad-1.5 installed in kurento.

This is working cool with Chrome versions in windows PC. 

But I am not able to get the video in the rasberry pi device which has chromium 65 version. 

Gives me an error "DOMException: Failed to parse SessionDescription: m=video 0 UDP/TLS/RTP/SAVPF Expects ˓→at least 4 fields OperationError (DOM Exception 34): Expects at least 4 fields ". 

Could u pls help me here to solve the puzzle?

Hi Delia,

Yes, I have already checked , it suggests:  We have  openh264 installed in Kurento server already. We have disabled VP8 in sdpendpoint configuration and it’s enabled only with h264. The point is we are able to stream the WebRTC (h264) at chrome but not able to get the same in chromium browser. 

Do you have any lead???

Do you mean, even by enabling openh264 (encoding) in kurento and enabling ffmpeg ( decoding) in rasberri pi, is it not possible to get the h264 content in Chromium browser?

The plugin h264ify plugin for youtube works better for youtube videos.

If there any plugin available in general that supports h264 video?

But I don’t know the specific details，I suggest you can test the bug through one way.
