GPU for GStreamer

Hello.
Is it possible to force the GStreamer from KMS to use a GPU instead of CPU? We would like to install a GPU with 3800 cores on the server and then all the transcoding would be done on it.

For the moment, no. We did some tests, and it requires an individual implementation for each codec, not all are ported... besides, not all VM providers offer GPU support, so we decided to leave that for now.

What is the status of this at the moment? I am willing to do some digging (and have a whole team at my disposal to do so), i.e. i don't expect a one-liner answer, but is there a way to make use of GPU (like nvidia Kepler, say g2.2xlarge AWS instance) to encode h264 for Kurento streaming, say with 264_nvenc (works perfectly for ffmpeg with unbelievable speed)?

If GStreamer h264 encoder or decoder can use GPUs, then it will be available in Kurento as Kurento is a wrapper around GStreamer.
