Requesting code freeze extension for VEP-10 in v1.8

Hi folks,

I would like to request a 7-day extension to merge the PR https://github.com/kubevirt/kubevirt/pull/16556  implementing VEP 10: Support for GPU DRA devices in KubeVirt.

The PR re-works the implementation in v1.6 to with a more robust solution using downward API. The downward API standard is currently under review in the kubernetes community: https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/pull/137086. Merging of this kubernetes PR is currently blocking kubevirt work. 

The feature itself will stay in alpha, it will be hidden behind a feature gate, hence the risk of delayed merging is minimal.

It would be great to give some more time for this feature to make it in v1.8.
