KubeVirt Summit 2025 CfP now open!

Very happy to announce that the KubeVirt Summit 2025 CfP is now open!

This annual event brings together the broader community to talk all things KubeVirt: whether that is to highlight new features, talk about production deployments, discuss architectural changes, or provide a tutorial.

The Speaker CfP is open to all KubeVirt contributors and users and we encourage everyone who works on or deploys KubeVirt to consider submitting a session.
Not sure if your idea is worth submitting? Just ask on our slack channel, community meeting, or email me directly.

* This virtual event is free but you will need to register to attend.

Hi Andrew and KubeVirt Community,

I just wanted to bring to your attention that October 8th, the scheduled date for the KubeVirt Summit 2025, is a public holiday in Israel. Specifically for us at Red Hat, this means we will be observing a company shutdown.

This timing is likely to be problematic for many attendees and contributors from Israel and Red Hat, as it would conflict with holiday plans and availability. We would greatly appreciate it if you could consider postponing the summit by a week or two. A week later, people will be back from the shutdown, but it's possible some might still be extending their vacations, so a slightly later date might be even more ideal.

I've reached out to the CNCF events team with whom we are organizing Summit this year to see whether we can shift the date as suggested.

Hi Shelly and everyone,

Unfortunately moving the date at this stage is not really an option. I am very sorry that this will preclude some folks who are a core part of the community from being able to join Summit this year.

For those affected and interested in presenting, I'm exploring the possibility with the CNCF team of submitting a pre-recorded session to be presented on the day. You could also submit a proposal with a collaborator and have them present the work on your behalf.
All the sessions will be recorded and posted on our youtube channel. I know it's not the same as being there on the day but hopefully it's a viable alternative.

I think it is unfortunate that the event will exclude so many core members of the community (including SIG and core approvers).
I hope that the CNCF will reconsider.
