Hi all,

I would like to request a 1-week exception (until July 1st) for VEP 168 (Masquerade Port Ranges):

VEP: https://github.com/kubevirt/enhancements/issues/168

PR implementing it:
- #18095: https://github.com/kubevirt/kubevirt/pull/18095 — "VEP 168: Masquerade Port Ranges support (Alpha)"

Status: The PR is under active review with only a few small points remaining to be addressed. The author is active and committed to finalizing it as soon as
possible.

Justification: The change is an Alpha feature guarded by the PortRangesSpec feature gate, which significantly limits the blast radius and keeps the risk low.
A short extension would allow the author to address the remaining review feedback and land a well-reviewed feature rather than deferring it to the next release.

Thanks,
Edy.

Hi Edy,

Thank you for following up for the community member!

From my POV, the only remaining task is to update the tracker properly. Let me know if you need a help with it.

Hi Lubo,

I agree with you the e2e tests are very important, especially because they provide a way to exercise the integration with the driver.

The remaining work:
  1. The above test PR depends on setting up the right CI environment, PR to add a DRA lane: https://github.com/kubevirt/project-infra/pull/5115, this sets up the PCI devices on 1.36 k8s provider and installs the driver
  2. The above PR ran into an issue during dra driver installation, fix is in pipeline: https://github.com/kubevirt/kubevirt/pull/18275

I fully expect the e2e test PR to be merged before release. I am happy to consider reverting the beta promotion if for some reason the tests are not in place or tests are not stable.

Hope that helps.

Best,
Alay
