Hello kubefolks,
On behalf of the current SIG Scheduling leadership (Huang Wei, Abdullah Gharaibeh and myself), I announce that we will step down from our roles and we nominate the following contributors:
Chairs: Kensei Nakada (Tetrate.io) and Maciej Skoczeń (Google)
TLs: Kensei Nakada (Tetrate.io) and Dominik Marciński (Google)
Kensei has been a member of the SIG since 2021, when he worked on kube-scheduler-simulator as part of GSoC. Ever since, he has demonstrated strong technical capabilities and commitment to the project. He has been an approver since 2023 and has led many KEPs, perhaps most famously Scheduling Hints.
Maciej has been contributing to the SIG since June 2024, with numerous contributions to the scalability of the scheduler. Most recently, he has been improving the unschedulable pods processing. He became an approver in January 2025.
Dominik has been contributing to the SIG since Sep 2024 and has recently become an approver. He has been the primary reviewer of almost all PR and KEPs in the last release. He has also been representing SIG scheduling in wg-device-management meetings.
For the past few months, all of the discussions about issues, the future development and SIG scheduling direction have already been driven by Kensei, Maciej and Dominik, so this leadership change just reflects the reality of the SIG.
The lazy consensus deadline for this proposal is one week from today - Friday February 18th.
This email is sent in accordance with the process updates for SIG leadership transitions (https://github.com/kubernetes/community/blob/master/contributors/chairs-and-techleads/leadership-changes.md) and the SIG Scheduling charter (https://github.com/kubernetes/community/blob/master/sig-scheduling/charter.md).
If you have any questions about this proposal, please reach out via any of:
- The #sig-scheduling Slack channel
- The sig-scheduling mailing list
- Current SIG Scheduling leads
If you have any private concerns, please reach out instead to: steering...@kubernetes.io
Thanks,
Aldo

Hi everyone,Thank you so much for your kind words.Working on SIG Scheduling and the broader Kubernetes community has been a wonderful experience both on a professional and personal level. I'm proud of all the things we built together, working across oceans and companies.I wish the SIG and its new leads all the best! The transfer process is almost complete https://github.com/kubernetes/community/issues/8428, but the ownership of the most critical components and tools is already done.So long, and thanks for all the... containers(?)!Aldo

I fully agree with what has been said before: many thanks to the
previous leaders and congratulations to the new ones. Without Aldo's
early support and guidance and then push towards something better,
DRA wouldn't be where it is today. But it wasn't just Aldo, pretty much
everyone above has helped out at some point.
With SIG Scheduling in good hand, expect some more DRA KEPs coming
your way soon ;-)
