New name for kubernetes-incubator/kube-arbitrator

Hi team,

As we discuss in the meeting, we'd like to give a new name to kube-arbitrator to better describe its target/scope: a batch scheduler.

I start with two following names: kube-batchd and KBS; please help to vote. If any other name for it, please feel free to comments :)

1. kube-batchd

2. KBS (kubernetes batch scheduler)

Anyway -1 for KBS, pronunciation is easy to be confused with k8s.

I am late to the party, but kube-batchd does not sound like a component that does scheduling. The name is fine if we want it to be responsible for more than just scheduling batch workloads. Otherwise, kube-batch-scheduler can be another option.

Maybe we need to include PodGroup controller in this project, if PodGroup is CRD. The controller is not complex (so not a new repo/project), and it works closely with batch scheduler.

 

Otherwise, kube-batch-scheduler can be another option.

Yes, it makes sense for this project to include PodGroup controller as well.

In that case and given that the feature name is "coscheduling", another possible name for it could be "kube-coscheduler".

 

Otherwise, kube-batch-scheduler can be another option.

hm... Coscheduling is a major feature for now; but I think there'll be other batch related requirements.

And as comments in scheduler framework design, there'll some additional concepts in scheduler framework for batch related features;

so I'd like to integrate kube-arbitrator with scheduler framework when it's ready, that'll be helpful for us to merge two projects :)
