Hi everyone,

Addressing a topic from recent SIG-network Ingress GA meetings, I'd like to contribute some early work on a conformance test suite for ingress V1.

The project is located at https://github.com/datawire/ingress-conformance and given the short demo yesterday, we felt we should find it a home under a Kubernetes-sig repo (both for the code and docker image builds). Your feedback on the project and proposed location are welcome at this time.

The goal of this project is to act as an executable specification in the form of a test suite, implementing a standard, actively maintained ingress-controller conformance specification.

The few implemented checks serve as sample and are by no mean the "official specification", but it will give us a location to collaborate on drafting and implementing it.

Best,
Alex

This sounds appropriate for kubernetes-sigs/...

I propose the creation of a new github repo under the kubernetes-sigs org:

@bowei, can I ask you to sponsor this request and make Rafael (https://github.com/rhs) or myself (https://github.com/alexgervais) an approver/writer on the repo, allowing us to push the existing code and buildup the automation on the new target repo?

Hi group,

I've opened the following issue for creating the repo: https://github.com/kubernetes/org/issues/1328

Thanks,
Alex
