Krusader running but not visible

While i was trying to configure the KDE desktop a little bit more, i deleted the TaskBar.  i've got a new (default) one installed and somewhat populated but now some of my programs don't seem to work correctly...

Krusader seems to run, but will not appear on the Desktop.  Skype seems to run but doesn't place an icon in the System tray.

My System Activity window shows Krusader running.  When run from the Konsole window, the cursor just moves to the next line.  If i check Sys. Activity, i see that krusader is running.

LOWriter works.  PaleMoon, Thunderbird, Google-Earth all run.

i've tried just a reinstall, but no luck.  A complete reinstall provides no relief.

Any ideas?  Krusader is still working under my Guest user just fine.

Hi,

1. Please try to reconfigure your tray widget (right-click on an arrow on its left side, then choose "Configure "System Tray""). Just re-enable tray icon on the "Items" page.

2. If this does not help, please try to log out then switch to another console (Ctrl+Alt+F2). Log in, then move ~/.kde/share/config to other folder (mv ~/.kde/share/config  ~/kdeconfigs). Restart your computer. Try to restore the needed configuration by moving files of the corresponding applications to the recreated folder, one-by-one.

Yuri, gee that was FAST!  Thanks a million.  i've been at this for a couple of days now.  i figured i'd have to do something like you suggested.  My version of Linux doesn't provide a way to implement the first possibility (PCLinuxOS) so i'll try the second.
