Hello,

I just recently started using krusader and am a long-time Linux user.  I've searched everywhere and cannot find out how krusader disables renaming inline.  Whenever I rename inline, the characters are jumbled and become unreadable:

Example 1: http://s30.postimg.org/k0pvyib8x/Screenshot_from_2015_04_08_07_14_43.png

Example 2: http://s9.postimg.org/rpgrgh41r/Screenshot_from_2015_04_08_07_16_01.png

So far, I like krusader above Thunar, and certainly Nautilus; however, this is irritating and could be a deal breaker.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Can it be that the problem is in the color scheme of fonts?

Works here as expected. To be honest, it is not easy to see what the problem is from the screenshots, sorry.

What I do:

1. Click on the file.
2. Press F9.
3. Rename the file.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Best regards,
Yuri

Yeah, I adjusted the color scheme every which way, as well as installed the full KDE4 desktop environment (I use Openbox or Gnome *shudder*).  If you look at the right-hand pane, you will see a huge jumble of letters - that's the rename inline that I was talking about.

Hello again,

Here's an exploded view of the problem... it is the in the green highlighted area and it happens 100% of the time I try to rename a file, regardless of color scheme:

Thank you :)

Here's a second example with an even longer file name:

Default color scheme, to demonstrate that it happens across color schemes:

however, I generally do not like renaming inline on Linux, every time I've tried it, it never seems to work as intended (like this problem, for example).  I prefer a pop-up box for renaming, like Konqueror can be configured to do, as well as Thunar, Nautilus, etc.  Krusader seems to be the only file manager that does not have an option to turn it off.

I'm going to hazard a guess that it is a problem with configuration either KDE or Krusader
Lets start with Krusader's config file.
check here for how to locate the config for krusader. http://www.krusader.org/documentation/config_files.html

make sure you are not running krusader before you this.
navigate to the krusaderui.rc file location may vary by distro. rename it to krusaderui.rc-old

tart krusader and see if the problem persists

Hello,

the same problem here. I tried to start krusader with fresh config files (as admfubar suggests) but the problem still persists, no matter what color scheme is chosen.

I would be grateful for any suggestions. I like krusader and this renaming issue is a nuisance.

Best regards

Standa
