What seems years ago i used to be able to use Sync to create a backup of my computer of the "last" month's new and modified files.  The output of the sync would go to a window in which would appear the files as well as their directories and subdirectories.  In order to finish the backup, i would only select the files and right click and choose Copy and would proceed to copy to a new directory.  But before finishing the copy command i would select a small box which would copy each of the files back into its correct directory (i think it was called "Preserve directory structure") and subdirectory.  This function disappeared a few years back and i check out every iteration of Krusader to see if it has been reinstated.  It was very helpful to have the backup with the files in their original subdirectories and not just a long list of files...

Does anyone know how this might be done under the current configuration of Krusader?  i already submitted this as a bug but it seems like the devs have misunderstood my problem and they tried addressing another one - sigh.

Have a wonderful day!  :)

I never even looked for such a feature, since it's easy to use rsync to do that for you. Plus, an rsync job can be put in cron, and then your backups are automatic. For example:

rsync -Oavch /home/tom/.config /mnt/backup/home/tom
rsync -Oavch /home/tom/.kde /mnt/backup/home/tom
rsync -Oavch /home/tom/.local /mnt/backup/home/tom
rsync -Oavch /home/tom/bin /mnt/backup/home/tom
rsync -Oavch /var/www   /mnt/backup/var

Yes, Tom, that was once a feature of this wonderful Krusader.  Was it banished to the furthest reaches of the known Universe because of its reprochable behaviour or was it just overlooked and eventually forgotten - perhaps we'll never know.

Have a beautiful evening!  :)
