Do I understand it right that the external progress bar which popped up when copying or moving files is now gone for ever and that its replacement is the "job progress bar" in the toolbar?

I just want to be sure because I miss the data transfer rate which was shown by the old external window progress bar.

Kind regards

No, the external progress is shown by the desktop environment. So it totally (and only)
depends on the DE you are using, if it supports the KIO notification and how it is
configured. There is no control from Krusader over the external progress.
If you're using KDE's Plasma, the progress should be shown somewhere (in the taskbar iirc)
but I'm using LXQt and cannot test that.

The internal Job toolbar is meant as a general solution independent from the DE. But, of
course, you can always deactivate it.

Cheers

I had this external progress bar window under xfce4 for a long, long time. But - i cannot say when - it has disappeared.
So I installed plasma-desktop and checked there.

The best I can get is to select "Show hidden icons" in the panel, then right click on "notifications", choose "Configure Notifications ..." and in the window opening I check "Track file transfers and other jobs". Then I get a additional notification button in the panel area when copying files. If I click on this button, another progress bar is shown.

If I unselect "Track file transfers and other jobs" no external window opens when copying files (I think this was the behaviour with some earlier krusader/ plasma versions).

So right now, the built in progress bar of krusader does the best jobs regardless if I am using plasma (KDE) or xfce4. So I never would deactivate it.

The previous external window showed the transfer rate in addition - but of course, no one is dying although I am missing it quite a bit.
