I have noticed that when a bundle with one subscription is transferred from account1 to account2, the subscription ends on account1 on the transfer date and that subscription then begins on account2 on the transfer date. In our use case, both accounts, account1 and accoun2 belong to the same user and therefore, we do not want the subscription's start_date to change because it leads to the creation of pro-rated invoices.

Is it possible to transfer a subscription from account1 to account2 without changing the start_date of the subscription and without generating any pro-rated invoices?

Or, can two accounts be designated as one and the same account such that when a subscription is transferred from one account to another, no prorated invoice is generated?

Thank you,
Vivek

Hi Vivek,

By design, when a bundle is transferred to another account, the start date of the target account subscription is set as the transfer date.

The pro rated invoices can be avoided if the request date for transfer matches the billing cycle end date for the original account and choosing end of term policy. Generally for your use case, you are looking for immediate transfers OR can you give it a request date like specified above?

Karan

Hi Karan

Thanks. We require immediate transfer because otherwise, the subscription will continue until the end of term on the old account, account1, which is not desired since account1 and account2 are one and the same.

For now, we will not do the transfer and maintain a single account for the user.

Thank you,
Vivek

Hi Vivek,

I understand. You could look into the invoice plugin to handle the pro rated invoice. The plugin would be invoked before any invoicing operation. Here is an example of the invoice plugin api
