Hi list,

I've updated Safari from 16.0 to 16.1.
With the Web Authentication feature enabled, the "Sign In with Security Key" button does not trigger the TouchID prompt as it used to. No reaction at all.
With the Web Authentication feature disabled, the "Sign In with Security Key" button does not trigger the TouchID either but the webpage displays a red "Failed to authenticate by the Security key" error message.

Any hints on this ?

Thanks,
Ionel

Well, my bad, upgrading MacOS to 12.6.1 solves this behaviour.
Web Authentication enabled and TouchID prompts again.

Hi Ionel,
Updating to MacOS Ventura 13.0 / iOS 16.1 / iPadOS 16 will allow you to use passkeys (https://fidoalliance.org/passkeys/ - https://www.passkeys.io/)
This provides a better user experience, given the "FIDO device" is now the platform (Keychain in case of Apple), so shared between devices.

Regards,

Gustavo
