Thank You Cards

Hi Kerns NA Board,

At our October meeting last week we learned that Rebecca and Morrissey have stepped down from the board.

They were both valuable board members who contributed a lot to our organization and I am sorry to see them go - but I understand we all have a lot on our plates.

I have the idea to put together digital Thank You cards for them which we can each sign if we want - digitally - and also write short notes if we want - and I will put them together and send out to them. (I will share for review with everyone before sending them - I plan to make them as simple images rather than using a third party service)

I also thought it would be nice if we could include a gift for each of them.- such as a gift card to a local business.

My thought originally was that we could each pitch in a few dollars for the gifts. But Jay had the idea that if we vote as a board to use our general funds then that could be a good option. I also had the thought - perhaps we still have some gifts remaining from our fundraisers or picnic we could gift to them? 

So please chime in if you like theis idea of sending cards and your thoughts on gifts.

Below are some pieces of info I'm hoping from you

1a. If you like the idea then please indicate you'd like to add your name to the cards - and if so what name to put.

1b. You can also send me short notes to each of them and I will put them above your name.

1c. Any ideas for card designs? I'm planning on finding some nice royalty free designs.

2a. For the gift cards - do you like the idea of voting to use money from our general funds for gifts? Or individual donations instead?

2b. If so - how much money and for what? For example - I suggest $25 gift cards to Whole Foods for each of them (I would have said Starbucks but they're sadly closed) What are your ideas?

Hi Kerns NA board,

Here are the thank you cards I have drafted for Rebecca and Morrissey.

Please take a look at these and let me know any adjustments you'd like made to them - either the text, the design or the fonts, etc.

I looked into 3rd party Thank You card options - but ended up making these from scratch in GIMP - using pics I took from the picnic as the background.

Once we have a majority approving of the card designs then we need to figure out the logistics of getting the gift cards and then presenting the cards and gift cards.

Daniel Lymon suggested Crema cards. I was originally thinking Whole Foods - because it's so versatile and also probably easier to get digital cards which could be sent in an email.

What do others think?

I only recommended Crema over Whole Foods just so that we’re supporting a local business, versus a national chain. If not Crema, maybe Providore?
