Smart city and open data opportunities

There's some news of Cisco and Kansas City teaming up to launch smart city network [1,2]. Since an effort like this will likely come with new processes and data worthy of being "open" - it would ideal to vocalize and ensure addressing the open data policy, machine formats, licensing and availability.
