Dear KBA Community,
As many of you will be aware, governments are coming together to finalise the negotiations on a new Global Biodiversity Framework at meetings to be held between 3rd to 19th December. We very much want Key Biodiversity Areas to be at the heart of this framework so that plans to increase protection/conservation to 30% by 2030 are put in the places that contain significant populations of species, extent of ecosystems or sites of ecological integrity. We will be holding a session in the Nature Positive Pavilion at COP15 on 7th December from 15.30-16.30: Why should Key Biodiversity Areas be in the Global Biodiversity Framework: Lessons from countries around the world. If you will be at COP15 in Montreal please do join us and if you cannot be there please pass this on to your government representatives who will be attending
Regards,
Andy
