KBA event at COP15

Dear KBA Community,

 

As many of you will be aware, governments are coming together to finalise the negotiations on a new Global Biodiversity Framework at meetings to be held between 3^rd to 19^th December. We very much want Key Biodiversity Areas to be at the heart of this framework so that plans to increase protection/conservation to 30% by 2030 are put in the places that contain significant populations of species, extent of ecosystems or sites of ecological integrity. We will be holding a session in the Nature Positive Pavilion at COP15 on 7^th December from 15.30-16.30: Why should Key Biodiversity Areas be in the Global Biodiversity Framework: Lessons from countries around the world. If you will be at COP15 in Montreal please do join us and if you cannot be there please pass this on to your government representatives who will be attending

We are available to join the KBA community side events and do presentations / be a panelist if Needed. I was on the panel for a side event that was organized by Birdlife SA during the APAC in Kigali. 

So I will not mind to join the community to present our plans for KBAs in Cameroon. 

We have just been informed by BIOPMAA THAT of our KBA project that we submitted has been selected for funding. It will be an opportunity to further discuss with you on this.
