What might opener have to rebid 2H on a doubleton? With 4=2=4=3 (which
has to be 15+) or 4=2=5=2 (could that be 12-14?), I'd expect 2NT. I
think 2NT shows a non-minimum and is either forcing or intended as
forcing. In my view, minimum hands with 4=2=5=2 have to either open 1NT
or rebid 2D, hiding the spades. Maybe I'm wrong about that.

I don't think there's any problem with promising a rebid when m=D, but
in the auction 1C-1H; 1S-2D; 3C-, responder needs to be able to pass
with a minimum misfit.
