But America remains the GREATEST bastion of freedom to be ill-informed

The charges were dropped, altogether.

The charge did NOT involve just the gun. It involved someone taking it as a threat of stalking and threatening. Hence the investigation. 

Once the FACTS came in the case dissolved, as it should have. 

You might have told us all that; but that would have spoiled your tendency to sensationalize events like this. 

Final thought: when you plan your becoming an expat, cross England, and most of Europe, off your list. I hear the Somalia has MUCH more lax gun laws. Afghanistan, too. 

But remember that those loose laws apply to all.

It took 13 weeks to drop the charges. Should have never been filed in the first place. To be honest I've never feared going into any neighborhood in Kansas City as an Uber driver, but I do fear going to England now. I'll take the very slim chance of random gun violence over thousands of people being arrested for Facebook posts.

I'll try to channel G on this one: you're an idiot. 

The murder rate in England is 9.5 per MILLION. The US rate is about 65 per million. 

So I can see why you feel safer in the US. You're an idiot. 

But assuming that this attitude pervades the low knowledge right, it explains a LOT. 

Uber drivers are victimized at a moderate rate.

As for the case at hand, that's England. Their laws differ from ours. It's not rocket science.

So all of Europe and Australia is governed by tyrannies because they aren't as nuts over guns as YOU? 

Glad we have the measuring stick cleared up. 

I know this is beyond your ability to  comprehend; BUT you might want to consider that the US is the outlier, not the norm.

Right, Brian. So you think it's okay for citizens to be armed so that they can resist arrest? I did read that correctly, yes?

So why so much panty-wadded whining on your part when people in the US resist detention by ICE agents, who wear masks and don't carry ID?

Americans who resist arrest should be SHOT. 

Please square the circle on this if you can. 

IMO, you're in favor of certain  people have the right to resist gov't overreach. They include British people and WHITE Americans. But gosh forbid  people of color asserting their rights against illegal detention.
