Today is National Day of Remembrance, to remember the day that FDR signed an order to inter Japanese AMERICANS. Best to listen to those who actually know what it's about.

The approval rating on ICE is about even with Epstein's numbers. All over the US communities are fighting hard to prevent warehouse from being converted to ICE detention centers. Some of these are so ill-conceived that they won't have water/sewage capabilities anywhere near what's needed. One community explained the water shortage to Noem, who explained that the facility would take water from the community AT NIGHT, thus not exceeding their DAY(LY) water supply. 

Brilliant. 

There is no comparison between Trump and the level of stupid in his admin with ANY other in the past, Rep or Dem. A dumpster fire manned by people carrying gas cans.

At least American citizens in 1941 came by their fear and loathing for the Japanese....including Japanese Americans....honestly.  You can't excuse what happened, but you can at least explain it in human terms. We can compare that to the Pearl Harbor of our day: It took a lot of convincing to prevent my 25 year old self from hating ALL Muslims on September 12th, 2001. I remember wanting blood...lots of it. 

What is happening today cannot be explained with any humanity whatsoever. Drumming up xenophobia to eradicate "vermin" needs no explanation. We all know what it is....we've studied history....and yet our resident historian sits idly by and applauds it.

Meanwhile, shares in RTX have averaged ~12% return annually (including dividends) in the 25 years since we first lobbed missiles into Afghan villages following 9/11. Not bad at all.

Yes I did, and then regretted it...and told myself I'd never want to feel that regret again.

Perhaps you've noticed a theme in my posts in the 2+ decades since. If there is one thing I rail against most often, it is this: Letting yourself be used to make decisions based upon FEAR and/or LOATHING. 

Of all of BKs shortcomings....and the list is impressive (spooning aside)....this is at the top. He's convinced that....let me check the calendar....hmmm...ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS....are now to be feared and loathed and cause a great deal of our problems....and therefore we should abandon our constitutional rights and allow a secret police to act with impunity because.....FEAR!!!

Our resident Constitutionalist....ready to shit all over it at the drop of a hat.....because that guy pruning my bushes might not be a US citizen, and somehow that is something to be feared and hated and demands action in spite of consequences and without legal supervision or due process. 

But hey: "Maybe don't be illegal..."

Have you ever asked me why I think illegals should be deported? No you have just made your own assumptions based largely in your own fears and dumped them in me .

Brian, you're right. They aren't secret. They're out there in plain site. But they don't carry badges, they wear masks and drive unmarked cars. And no other police agency acts like that in OUR country. Plain-clothes police don't walk a beat. The FBI agents carry badges and have their faces exposed. And they don't break into houses without warrants. And they don't teargas bystanders. 

If these goons were out arresting fat white truckers in droves, with a quota system in place, you'd be singing a different tune. Maybe we get to hear that tune if the Irish roundup gets bigger. 

Maybe you can do a "23 and me" DNA test and carry the results with you. I'm 94% Ashkenazi Jew. Close enough. 

And whereas I'm NOT fearful, there are plenty of brown people who ARE. And many of them are here legally. Are you pleased that ICE is creating an environment that makes people who are here legally live in fear? Are you pleased that CITIZENS and people with legit green cards are getting snatched up without any semblance of due process, being held often for days? 

If you are, say so; and let G tell you what's next. 

So as far as I can tell, Latinos in the US do an incredible amount of hard work. They live rough but honest lives. Their crime rate is LOWER than that of fat white truck drivers and their kin. They aren't rapists, murderers, drug dealers or VERMIN. Getting rid of them isn't really high priority. But you think it is. So tell us why such emphasis on deporting tens of millions of people. And when did this become a BIG DEAL for you?
