Golden trout. Native to one small area in the Sierras. They've been exported to many places in the high country, since their home is above 10K feet. They have migrated to lower elevations and often cross-breed with brooks and browns. The golden/brook hybrid is really pretty. 
I sent this guy back to fetch his big brother. Didn't happen. I've caught these up to about 12 inches; but mostly 8-10, 
There is a lake reputed to have these up to 22 inches. I fished there 10-12 years ago and hooked something big enough to break my line. Certainly bigger than anything else I've ever encountered in the mountains. I intend to go back soon.
