Maybe this would be a good time for BK to remind us how bad the Islamofacists are. 

Maybe he can ask Mrs. BK what SHE thinks. 

From my  POV this looks so very much like Afghanistan under the Taliban, or Saudi Arabia. Or how ISIS treats women. It's not law obviously; but for people to even consider it and wish for it is all one needs to know who's being dealt with here. 

And the fact that it can even get a breath of air is truly alarming.

Its unfortunate the 19th amendment was passed. Women should have been allowed to vote because of the 14th amendment.

Right sentiment, wrong conclusion. What you meant is that it's shame that the 19th was necessary. But male chauvinism was strong back then. Took a lot to overcome its tendencies. And here we are today with that same toxic masculinity still awake and trying to influence things. You do realize (always a dangerous assumption) that the SAVE act will make it very difficult for married women (who took their husbands' name) to get voter ID. Not impossible, but costly and difficult. That kind of barrier to voting is basically a poll tax. Bad.

I'm tempted to invoke 25A for you. 

"Women are incapable of navigating life?" And the upshot is that REPUBLICANS, especially those of the far right Christian nationalist wing want to tell them how to "navigate their health care decisions. And abortion becomes totally illegal. And not that long ago, women couldn't get credit cards or buy a house in their name. And of course not vote. This all at the insistence of Republicans. 

And as for minorities, let's look at SNAP benefits;

SNAP benefits primarily support vulnerable demographics, with 79% of households including a child, elderly person, or disabled individual. Children comprise about 39% of recipients, while 20% are elderly and 10% are non-elderly disabled. Most recipients are white (35.4%-61% depending on methodology), followed by Black (25.7%-28.7%) and Hispanic (15.6%-30%) individuals, largely serving households in deep poverty.

Note white/black demographic, and Latino as well. Looks the WHITES get SNAP more far often than the nanny-stated minorities  

Go figure. Perhaps when some synapses start firing you'll get more familiar with the FACTS. 

Helping disadvantaged people is something NOT to be ashamed of. It doesn't make the US a nanny state. 

But you'll keep thinking what you think, if your missives could be considered a product of thought.

Oh, I see. So getting a passport costs $100+. And everyone just has that kind of money lying around. And women are just supposed to accept the added burden of proving who they are. 

You really are just a really low knowledge moron. You do know (my assumption) that there used to be all kinds of barriers erected to keep Blacks from voting. Poll taxes, guess the number of beans in the jar, etc. These are ALL, ALL now illegal. But now, in your delusional state it's okay to demand that people spend serious money and  time to prove who they are. 

And, even MORE amazingly, you of the supposed Libertarian vintage, think it's okay for the federal gov't to demand that everyone have proof of citizenship. That's almost unfathomable. But I'll agree if the gov't will PAY for people to get their ID's. 

And while you're working to get your meds adjusted, it should be pointed out that these barriers apply to WHITE people as well. And in the meantime:

Brian, get that rock off. There are going to be NEW barriers erected for women to prove their identity. Their birth certificate WON'T WORK if they took their spouse's name. Do you get that; or do we need sock puppets? The only other ID that will work will be a passport. But that requires a birth certificate, along with $165. T hat's a POLL TAX. Get it? Or do you need more sock puppets. 

Fuck you for your total ignorance. Ask your wife. She's going to have to run a lengthy errand to get adequate ID. My wife doesn't think that the SAVE act will  pass. Her sister and niece both went and got a passport so that they can vote in Kansas. 

But what's really sick is that you think that this is reasonable. YOU are going to have to produce ID as well. Your CDL won't work; your DL won't work. Do you know where your birth cert is? Is it the original? 

Erecting barriers to voting is illegal. And it's all been put together to prevent something that isn't a problem. Trump is doing this because he's a panty wadded whiny snowflake who still thinks he didn't lose the 2020 election. And he got a bunch of Kool-aid drinking low knowledge Republican congress members to go along with his craziness, and a bunch of low knowledge Republican MAGA-ites to agree. 

Time for DF to quiz you about your Libertarian creds. I can't believe that Ammon Bundy and his ilk will stand for the notion of a federal ID. 

It just sounds so.................communist in nature. What's next? Checkpoints every few miles?

This is just a random FYI food for thought

People of a certain age are going to be AUTOMATICALLY registered for a potential draft. Note that the registration is automatic. 

So why can't voter registration be that easy and automatic? Just askin'.
