Roger,

Got the power back on this morning after only a 13-hour outage. I loaded v3.8.23 into my 6700 (it was running a v3.9.xx alpha version), & SWRPoltter6k worked properly. I am not aware of any changes to the API that would make the 8000-series radios work differently than the 6000-series.  I will check.

Again, please provide more details of the symptoms you are experiencing.

I tried it today with my new Flex 8600 (1 week old).

My findings:

The program works fine but you must have the lock on the flag UNLOCKED for the frequency to change and the TX highlighted for the program to find your slice.  The first time I tried the program, the lock was locked and the frequency did not change.

Just my observation.

Jim,

Thank you for the report. That confirms that his problem is not systemic to the 8000-series. Since I only have a FLEX-6700, troubleshooting other models can be daunting, especially with all of the new features in the 8000-series that I do not have access to.

Not being able to change frequency if the slice is locked makes perfect sense – that is what the lock is supposed to do. I never considered that someone might try that, otherwise I could have automatically unlocked the slice the same way I turn off the ATU & set the tuner to BYPASS..

And, yes, one of the slices must be set as a transmit slice since I look for the transmit slice to use for taking SWR readings.

Could not find Flag setting in SWRPlotter, is it somewhere in 8600/SDR setup? Sounds like thats the problem

Hi Ray, I tried version SWRPlotter Ver 3.2.1which I think is the latest version on SmartSDR v3.8.23, and it does NOT connect to the 8600 says it can't find the Radio, I know it worked on my 6700.

UPDATE: I confirmand it is the Windows Defender Fire Wall that is stopping it from finding the Radio, now I need to see if I can build an exception for it.
Thanks

Roger,

The “flag” Jim is referring to is the data block on each slice in SmartSDR. It is not in SWRPlotter6k. By clicking on the lock icon, you can lock the slice to its current frequency.

Bret,

I am not at my computer, so I cannot tell you the exact steps off the top of my head, but complete step-by-step instructions are available on my website at the bottom of the SmartSDR Utilities page. Basically, by opening Control Panel in Windows, you can grant a program access through the firewall.

Roger,

The “flag” is in Flex SmartSDR. It is where the frequency and TX indicator plus other data is located.

Jim,

I just released SWRPlotter6k v3.4.0.  The program now checks the lock status of the slice & unlocks it if necessary. After the analysis is complete, the previous lock status is restored.
