Account list at startup?

I'm running K9 mail version 6.602 on my Android 11 device.

Is there any way that I can configure K9 to always show the account list upon app startup?

I run my own SMTP server and I have more than 20 email accounts that I use for various purposes. I'd like to manage all those email accounts via K9, and I'd like for all of those accounts to be listed when I start up K9.

Is this even possible with K9?

This choice was addressed by a developer here many months ago, and the
answer was no. This is the startup UI we're stuck with.

Well. I can get such an account list on startup with AquaMail. I've been wanting to move away from AquaMail and go to K9. But I see now that there will be no K9 for me and that I'll have to stay with AquaMail, at least for the time being.

K-9 is worth this little aggravation. Just one tap takes you to the account list.

If it's just one tap, then why not just one goto? ;) One could
(conditionally) skip over all the code to load the default account and
invoke the event handler for that tap. But I suspect there's a lot of other
initialization that's bound up in that initial account load that can't
easily be separated out.

I understand and respect how you feel about this, but I don't even want to perform that one, single tap.

We all have different preferences and priorities.

As for the initial account load ... up until K9 version 5.600, they easily offered an option to initially display the account list, and so they already have legacy code which does this.

But I guess that they must have their reasons for not wanting this feature in more recent releases.

One thing I could do is to use AutoInput in conjunction with Tasker and get it to auto-perform that one tap upon app startup of K9. I might do that some day, but for now, I don't want to do that work, and so I'll just keep avoiding K9 for the time being.

That's one feature I miss fron K9 before the developer made the change.

Of course, add enough "little aggravations" like this, and eventually the "worth" gets eroded.
