I have 2 Makerbot Replicators (5th Gen I think) that used to be my go-to machines for middle school 3D intro projects because they are very good "plug and play" for my youngest students. After working through lots of clogging issues I finally got them running and then they both went out at the same time and will not power on. I believe there was a power surge at my building, they were left on and perhaps a fuse or something was blown?
I was wondering if anyone had this experience and perhaps easy repair advice. Luckily, I will be getting Prusas as replacements and I'm hoping to donate the Makerbot machines to our Science teacher who wants to do more project-based learning but I don't want to kick the problem down the line to her. If it's an easy fix I'd like to do it for her and give the machines a second life!
