Good afternoon everyone! As a FabLearn fellow in a public charter school I was asked where and how to find PBL and "MakerEd" colleagues in the public k-12 space. I'd thought I would get somewhat of a poll started here and see where it goes. If you don't mind, please post a reply here, with your school name, district and state.
¡Mil gracias, and have a lovely Sunday!

Well, I had replied privately to Fred that I preferred the post to stay visible and same for the data. If people just answer the survey then post will be quickly forgotten. I suppose we could request Angi to "pin" the post too. If there is a survey, then I'd like the responses to be visible too. I don't know, are people worried about privacy?

Good afternoon everyone! As a FabLearn fellow who is navigating the challenges of bringing maker education to a public school I was asked where and how to find PBL and/or "MakerEd" colleagues in the public k-12 space. In support of starting a network, I'd like to encourage people to add their school info here. The link goes to a spreadsheet with editing permissions for anyone with the link, so it is immediately visible. Having a space is not a prerequisite to be on this list.
¡Mil gracias, and have a lovely Sunday!
Note: this post has been edited.
Trying to build such a list in Ohio too. We have 7 districts, all public, with either mobile or on site labs just in Central Ohio just finishing our first year of implementation as a network.
Support is key.

My name is Beth Lloyd and I am the Innovation Specialist for Watertown Public Schools.
I am a media specialist in a 5th and 6th grade building. My biggest issue, hands down, is tech support. Our tech department has everything locked down, they are understaffed and under paid. They also don't have the knowledge base to support makerspace design software. At one point we had someone on staff who did, and it was a game changer. He's since moved on to working at a University.

For 2D designs, have you tried gravit.io? Pretty powerful! Also, google drawings just added a ruler which makes it a decent place to start.
Tinkercad has also added a lot of new tools in the past year and has been fairly reliable.

The administration is pretty on board, in general. Actually, that would be great - I am struggling with finding a good web-based design software for 3D designs, laser prints, etc. I've tried Sketchup, which we have downloaded, but sometimes have issues with exporting the file into something I can use for 3D prints, I was using Tinkercad, but for a while the site was going down and the kids were getting frustrated. Fusion 360 was recommended to me, but it seems like it might be too complex for 5th/6th graders. Is there anything else out there?

That's interesting, Lisa. Is that a district-wide policy? I used to be able to find almost any vendor and work with POs or a credit card. I do recall CDW took a long time to work with.
