Safety Precautions

Hi all,  

So I am interested in having our students use relays to switch on higher voltage items (lights, motors, etc. ) but am not sure what precautions or systems to use to mitigate the inherent danger of working with electricity.  

Does anyone have any good resources for teaching safe handling?  What rules do you use when attempting these types of projects?

+1 on the power tails.  Safest way I’ve found to have students control 110V AC.
