Hi Everyone!

Does anyone have recommendations to purchase pegboards that go on the wall (like the cork colored ones for tools, etc)?

Thanks!

I’ve installed these:

and these:

In several spaces and have been happy with both. I used the metal ones (first link) in the last few maker spaces I built and think they are the best overall, as they hold up long term and look great. The plastic ones are fine but not as durable.

Wall Control is definitely one of my faves.

Another idea, depending on how industrial you are looking to go, are Milwaukee packout walls.

If you want more of a softer, crafty kind of look, Elfa storage solutions from the Container Store are nice.

Another industrial route to go is to make (if you have a table saw) or buy a french cleat system.

You should be able to buy Masonite pegboard at a lumber store.

If you use the cork colored pegboard (fiberboard) I highly recommend these hooks (the website says they work on the metal boards as well, but I haven't tried that). You set up your pegboard without locking them in place and then once you are happy with your organization, you push the little white plastic screws in and they lock in.

You can find this type of pegboard in brown or white sized 4'x8' or 4'x4 or 2'x4' pieces at most lumber yards or at Lowe's/Home Depot. I generally mount them to the wall with a 2x2 behind them to allow space for the hooks to hook into the board.

I recommend the Skadis brand from Ikea.   There's also a huge 3d printing community out there who make different attachments for it that you can download on Makerworld or Thingiverse.   I'll send a picture of ours on Tuesday when we return to school.

Jesse.

I agree with Jesse.  My school does not have easy access  to a big box / Lowe’s type store, and when I moved into the space there was already a skadis pegboard.

I, too, have been 3D printing some
fun colorful attachments and using Shapr3D to custom design my own. By downloading the actual  stl files for the skadis hooks, you can model any other file into an attachment by subtracting the pegs from the design.

I can send pics if folks are interested. The skadis are probably way more $$ than home depot pegboard but i think my school was going for a certain “look”.
