Jai SrimanNarayana!!!

Dear Friends,

Happy New year! I hope you all had a restful holiday break and enjoyed time with your families. It was a wonderful 2019 with continuous Parayanams each month for the entire year.  Thanks to each and every one for your support.

And now it's almost time to plan and celebrate our yearly grand event "Bheeshma Ekadasi" which we have been performing for the past few years as an entire JVSN group. Please mark your calendars for Feb 8th, 2020 (Saturday morning) to celebrate this auspicious occasion at our Hindu Temple. We will follow up with the schedule and other updates as we get closer to the day of the event.

This is once in a year event and we would like each and every one of you, along with your family members to be a part of it and make it memorable. Please let your friends know that they can participate as well.

If anyone would like to contribute any $ amount for this event, please contact one of us, Vamsi Cherukuri (601-212-7017), Shilpa Vanga (601-832-6501) or Arundhati Surakanti (601-668-9397). If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you all once again.

Have a good night!

Jai SrimanNarayana!!!

Dear Friends,

It has been almost 7 years now that we are celebrating the Bheeshma Ekadasi event continuously around this time of every year. We all are truly blessed for being able to chant 1000 names of Divine Lord synchronously by having monthly Parayanams without fail. It was all possible only because of your true dedication towards devotional path and selfless help. I feel so glad for being a part of this group.

The second saturday of this month we celebrated this grand event one more time for this year and it went really so well. We are so fortunate to see the beautiful alankaram for SWAMI varu with colorful garlands, pattu vastraalu and the wonderful chanting. Thank you f
or all your support and participation in making this happen.

I really can't thank enough all the friends who came forward to generously contribute finances for this event.  Silpa did a great job of handling all the checks that have been received and came up with a spread sheet attached to this email with the details to share with you all.

Thanks to our priests Rambabu garu and Shravan Kumar garu who did a wonderful job of doing Balaji abhishekam/alankaaram and made us watch the entire Pooja very closely, which was really a feast to our eyes.

Our flowers in charge Haritha along with Lakshmi put a lot of effort in choosing and ordering bright colorful flowers. Special regards to Lakshmi and Shamili for spending hours of time tirelessly to prepare the beautiful maalas, which was the highlight of the entire Alankaaram.

As we all know, Lakshmi took up the challenge of teaching Vishnu Sahasra Namam to a junior team of 8 students last year,  and she did an excellent job in completing their syllabus and preparing them for their graduation. It was great to see these kids chanting the VSN on this auspicious day, which made the event much more vibrant. Their graduation ceremony after the main Pooja was also a part of this event and we are proud to say that they are now "JVSN" graduates.

Special regards to our temple authorities and kitchen committee, Pregash, Kavitha and their team for providing delicious lunch to all the attendees and also the volunteers who helped before and after the event.

Last but not the least, we are so grateful to our friend and GURU Madhavi who helped us start this spiritual journey and her effort in teaching the divine VSN Parayanam to many of us is commendable. Also, Dr Vijay Kumar garu for being a back bone to this entire group and his assurance to support us any time for anything. He helped us secure the temple and community hall by talking to the temple authorities. Thanks to Vamsi  who has been guiding with her expertise through out this process.

Overall this Bheeshma Ekadasi was a wonderful experience to all of us and the event was a success. Thank you all once again who opened up their doors to host the monthly Parayanams last year.

Following is a new list who signed up for Parayanams in the upcoming months, please call or email us if any of you are interested to host during any other months of this year.  See you all again in our monthly Parayanams. Have a good night!

Definition - What does Isavasyam Idam Sarvam mean?

Isavasyam idam sarvam is a phrase that is used in yogic philosophy to describe the concept that everything in the entire universe is enveloped by God. Idam sarvam means “all this,” while isavasyam means “pervaded by God” in Sanskrit. It reflects the understanding that everything in the universe is part of one complete whole that is inseparable from God.
Isavasyam idam sarvam is one of the Mahavakyas, which are the “great utterances” or short, truth-filled statements from the Upanishads.
=============

Om purnamadah purnamidam purnat purnamudacyate |
purnasya purnamadaya purnamevavasisyate $\Vert$
Om santih santih santih $\Vert$
The Rsi of this Upanisad is Svayambhuva Manu. The Lord Hari (Visnu), known as Yajña for being the Lord of all sacrifices, is the Devata. The Lord incarnated as the son of Akuti, the daughter of Manu himself. Manu, when faced with the danger of some demons who were intent upon devouring him, praised the Lord with these verses, and overcame his dire straits thereby. These circumstances are narrated in the Bhagavata Purana also.
The meters such as anustubh may be known in their respective places by counting the syllables.
There is the ancient stern warning against commencement of Vedic study or sacrifice without knowing the seer, the Deity, and the meter(s) correctly. Hence these facts should first be attended.
The tenets to be stated later will only be taken to heart by the qualified, not by others; for this reason, to create the qualification for study, and to satisfy the curiosity of the student for the subject of study, the first mantra obtains as follows --
Om Isavasyamidam sarvam yatkiñca jagatyam jagat |
tena tyaktena bhuñjitha ma grdhah kasyasvid dhanam
$\Vert$ 1 $\Vert$
idam sarvam = all this (this entire universe); Isavasyam = Isasya avasyam = Isasya
avasayogyam
= pervaded by Isa, the Lord Hari; yat kiñcha = also whatsoever, and whatever there may be; jagatyam = prakrtyam = in the primordial nature; jagat = the world; tena = by Him (the Lord Hari); tyaktena = dattena vittena = wealth granted, allotted, given; bhuñjitha = bhogam kuryah = do experience, enjoy; ma grdhah = ma kanksethah = do not crave for, do not seek; kasyasvid = any one else's; dhanam = wealth.

Om poornamadah poornamidam poornaat poornamudachyate
Om, That is complete, This is complete, From the completeness comes the completeness
(Om=sound of creation, holy word; Poornam=Complete, Adah=that; poornam=complete;poornamadah=that is complete; idam=this; poornamidam=this is complete; poornaat=from completeness; udachyate=comes, rises; poornamudachyate=comes completeness)
Poornasya poornamaadaaya poornamevaavashishṣyate
If completeness is taken away from completeness, Only completeness remains
(Poorna=complete; asya=from; Poornasya=From completeness; poornamaadaaya=remove completeness; poornam=complete, eva=only; vashishyate=remains; poornamevaavashishṣyate=Only completeness remains)
Om shaantih shaantih shaantih
Om, Peace peace peace
(Om=sound of creation, holy word; shaantih=Peace)
