Searching the web I've not been able to find any details on nbextensions in JupyterLab beyond the roadmap (
https://github.com/jupyter/roadmap
).
Is it ready for development? If not, any guess on the timeline?
The new interface is really coming along!
Jared

Hi Jared,
We're calling them labextensions, and they're almost ready for general use.
We have functional lab extensions for ipywidgets, bqplot, geojson rendering, and a dask dashboard, all in prototype form.
We are working on documentation and cookiecutter examples, along with a release of JupyterLab on PyPI and Conda Forge that supports extensions.
More information to come!
