Restrict profile visibility to a subset of users

Greetings, I have been exploring the profile list feature of the kubespawner to see if it is possible to restrict the visible profiles on a user-by-user basis. The use case I have is that User A logs in and sees notebooks 1 and 2, User B logs in and sees notebooks 2 and 4. So far my success has been limited. Does anyone know if this is even possible?
