Notebook 5 is just around the corner

Hi All!

We have just published a release candidate for notebook 5.0! Please install it and start using it:

pip install --pre notebook

If you run into any issues, please open an issue on Github.

If all goes well, we can expect an official release late next week.

I would like to try the current release candidate. The commands given check that I have prerequisites installed (I do), but does not install the rc. How may I do so?

If the initial command didn't work, try:

pip install notebook --force-reinstall --no-deps --ignore-installed --pre
