How to trigger a notebook save from within the notebook?

Is there a command I can put it in a cell that would trigger a "Save" action (= same as hitting Save from the File menu)?

Where is this documented?

No, not reliably.

You can display(Javascript(...)) but that's assuming the notebook is
running in the current notebook interface.
It won't work with JupyterLab or whenrunning headless.

Matthias, thanks for your answer....but I don't understand it. 
The cell would be running in the notebook.
