Jupyter plugin for assignment solutions (not grading)

Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a simple plugin for converting a notebook in a "simpler" notebook where some of the cells are automatically removed and replaced by an empty cell.

The use case is following: currently I have to maintain two notebooks (one including only the questions and one containing the questions + solutions), and I have to be careful that the two are in line. Having the possibility to maintain only the one with solutions with a special "export" option would be nice.

I am aware of nbgrader (http://nbgrader.readthedocs.io) but this seems overkill for my purpose. Ideas?

Actually you can just use nbgrader in very minimal settings:

nbgrader quickstart course_id

nbgrader assign course_id

Then share and retrieve your notebooks with students outside of nbgrader. This is not explained very well in documentation and it takes some time to figure out the minimal nbgrader configuration.
