How to get the method doc help via ipython api

In jupyter, I can use tab+shift to get the doc help of one python method. Just wondering what ipython kernel api I can use to get that. Thanks.

Ultimately, I believe this is calling

get_ipython().inspector.info(obj)

which returns a dict of info about the object.
