Exciting Achievements from the JUAMI Family: Prof. Chibueze Amanchukwu & Prof. Shirley Meng

Happy New Year to all Ethiopian members, celebrating 2017!🎉🎉

We are excited to share some incredible news about two of our esteemed JUAMI-2023 speakers, who have been recognized for their groundbreaking contributions to science and technology.

First, we congratulate Professor Chibueze Amanchukwu from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. He has been named one of the MIT Technology Review’s 35 Innovators Under 35, a prestigious honor for early career academics, entrepreneurs, and world-changing scientists. Amanchukwu is recognized for his pioneering work in designing next-generation batteries, alongside awardees in fields like biotechnology, energy, and communications.

Additionally, we extend our congratulations to Professor Shirley Meng, also from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. She will be leading the newly formed Energy Storage Research Alliance (ESRA), funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. ESRA will address critical challenges in energy storage, focusing on safety, high-energy density, and affordable, long-duration batteries. This initiative will play a key role in advancing climate solutions and boosting U.S. technological competitiveness.
