Hello guys,
I want to find out what it takes to build a card management system (CMS) using jpos library. Basically the use case will be, customers will be given loyalty card, and they should be able to use the card to make payment. The CMS should be able to receive requests from customers to change pin. What materials do i need in order to be able to achieve this? By materials, i mean software or hardware i need to purchase. Your help and suggestion is deeply appreciated.

One item of hardware (apart from the machine(s) to handle your expected
load and processing) :-

An HSM - secure means of checking PIN blocks using cryptographic keys
and perhaps PIN offsets; also for generating scripts down to the card if
they hold offline PINs.

Will you have someone producing your plastics and PIN mailers?

Hi Hipolito:

jPOS Consulting can help you issue EMV Cards with jCard. An EMV implementation is generally more complicated than a magnetic stripe one since encryption is a requirement, integration w/ Card Production Facilities and/or Bureaus is required. Among other things, jCard would provide:

* All card creation information on-file (e.g. encrypted keys).
* Provisions to create an extract of cards to be produced and send to a card production facility.
* Hooks to activate a card once it reaches a customer.
* Integration with HSMs to verify and product cryptograms both during issuance or transaction time.
* ARQC validation and ARPC generation.
* Sending issuer scripts to the card.

An EMV project should not be taken lightly. It requires lots of planning, from what cards are going to be used, to what applications go inside the card, selection of the CPF, playing by the "brand" rules, etc. It takes lots of testing and most of all, time. jCard should be the least of your worries!

Having said this, If you are interested you can send an email to sa...@jpos.org for more information.

Hi Lutterodt,

We have some backlog, but we do reply 100% of the email we receive, so if you sent us an email, you'll get a response.

PS.- I've also seen your tweet; hope you understand the joke in the response, it is not possible to answer in 140 characters so had to give you the short answer (https://twitter.com/troasfl/status/463275708262125568)

Sorry no.

I am doing my day job and my consultancy skype account has been blocked due to overuse contacting non-paying 'clients' :-)

Might I suggest that you watch out for the Friday  Slack support call to action and ask questions there?

You never, I might be online, but most other people there will be able to answer your questions.

I've got an email from you, less than 24 hours ago, with assorted follow-up emails asking why I didn't answer, and this call in the public list. With all due respect, that's not how it works.

Hi Lutterodt;

We are a startup company trying to build a payment solution and I recently discovered jPOS. I would like to put my hands on jCARD/jPTS for an evaluation purpose to see how it will fit our needs.

I do not know if you received a reply regarding your request to evaluate jCARD / jPTS.

Thanks.
