Tree trimming

Hi 

I’m having trees trimmed tomorrow and apparently they are bringing a chipper. I hope the noise won’t last long or be too bothersome for you all.

Also, on June 4-5 next week we are having the redwood in our backyard taken down. 

We didn’t make this decision lightly. 

We consulted with our tree person (who has seen several trees he thought were never at risk fall in the last couple of years) as well as all the neighbors who lives and houses would have been disrupted (to say the least) if and when the tree falls. 

There was a lot of process. (Typical of Berkeley, right?) But in the end there was agreement among the families most likely to find a redwood tree in their kitchen after a big windstorm. 

There will likely be a lot of noise next Tuesday and Wednesday but the neighborhood will be safer afterwards.

They are going to start on our tree today, Monday afternoon, FYI, and continue tomorrow and part (all) of Wednesday.
