MOBILIZATION DIRECTOR

 

Climate campaign seeks a seasoned field manager to direct our grassroots mobilization efforts.

 

Campaign’s grassroots mobilization effort consists of anywhere from 30-90 organizers in 3-5 states whose job it is to engage key citizens in the climate fight and develop long-term grassroots capacity. The grassroots mobilization program will help ensure that polluter allies in Congress don’t roll back recent progress on climate change and send decision-makers a clear message that their constituents demand action on climate change.

 

The ideal Mobilization Director is someone who has…

 

·       A vision for growing the grassroots power of the climate movement

·       Firsthand experience organizing volunteers to do advocacy work

·       Firsthand experience managing other organizers

·       The ability to get results in a coalition environment

·       Expertise in data management and analytics and ability to manage analytical projects

 

The Mobilization Director is responsible for…

 

  • Driving, managing, and implementing all aspects of the CAC Mobilization program including…
    • Designing and establishing the scope of the program
    • Managing a proposal process
    • Managing the program budget
    • Overseeing mobilization reporting systems and hold partner groups accountable to reporting/meeting goals
    • Interface with coalition partners & other national environmental campaigns
    • Supervising team of consultants to produce data and analytical products
  • Establishing measurable, aggressive and attainable metrics and ensure those metrics accurately reflect the work of the mobilization team
  • Coordinating with campaign management team to ensure mobilization program is supporting strategic goals of the campaign
  • Participate/ facilitate Campaign calls
  • Oversee additional ad-hoc phone-banking projects

 

To be qualified for the job, one must have…

 

·       5-7 years of experience as a field organizer and managing a Field program

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills

·       Ability to manage multiple projects at once

·       Comfort working in a fast-paced campaign environment
