Lyft is building a team organizers to support a New York public engagement campaign centered around the state’s 2020 legislative session. We’re looking to hire experienced organizers who want to improve the gig economy by increasing pay transparency, predictability, and stability for workers, while also preserving the flexibility new technologies provide.
This team will work to engage and activate rideshare vehicle drivers (as well as riders and other members of the public) in New York, around some of today’s most important policy issues defining the future of work. Organizers will work with a community of drivers helping them engage in this important political dialogue and making sure their voices are heard. Organizers will spend the bulk of their time getting to know the New York rideshare community and mobilizing members of that community in key districts and at pivotal moments in the legislative process.
If you believe, like we do, that the future of work should include supporting an innovative and flexible economy in New York, we want to hear from you.
Organizers will be based in either New York City, Long Island, the lower Hudson Valley, or Buffalo/Western New York. They will need their own housing, car, cell phone, and computer. The job is scheduled to start in early October and end in early February, with the possibility that it may extend beyond that time.
